Caleb says something funny
I rarely talk about funny things that my son Caleb says, because, unlike his sister, he usually thinks before he speaks. Today, however, he blurted out something that struck my husband and me as truly hilarious, although it might have been one of those “you had to be there” moments.
We were driving home from a day of shopping and my husband was just about to stop for gas about a mile from the house, when Caleb suddenly said, “Make room on the pot for me, because I have to poop!”
The mental image of one of us having to scoot over to make room for Caleb to sit down made me laugh all the way home– as if we had some sort of three-seater toilet (new invention? no, that’s gross).
Caleb had no idea why we were laughing at him– he just knew that he had to go now, and nobody better get in his way. There’s nothing like having a task-oriented male child who doesn’t understand why things are funny.
