Small town grapevine
I accepted a new job yesterday, teaching English and journalism at Gurdon High School.
You heard it here first– or maybe you didn’t. If you’ve ever lived in a small town before, you know news sometimes travels faster than you realize.
I went to the university president’s office this morning to tell them about my new job, and they already knew! I’m still trying to figure out how they knew, but somehow that news leaked so fast I didn’t even have time to officially resign!
I’ll be leaving Ouachita’s public relations office in August, and I’ll take on the yearbook and newspaper in Gurdon. I’m actually pretty excited about the job. I’ll have three sections of journalism (which is an awesome schedule) and three sections of 10th grade English.
I imagine most of the rest of my free time this summer will be spent reading world literature and trying to figure out yearbook contracts. Amazingly, that sounds really exciting to me!
