Terrible Twos?
When I picked Phillip up from daycare yesterday, I asked his teacher about his day. She replied, “I think he’s in the terrible twos.” You think?
Today when I came inside from taking out the trash, Phillip patted his bottom and said, “Daddy spank.” Very accusatory, like I’ll show you Daddy. I’ll tell Mommy.
“Yeah, I spanked him,” Daddy replied. “He jumped on top of me and started hitting me.”
This is not unusual behavior these days. His favorite words are, “No!” and “Stop!” He usually says them together with hand motions. He also growls at us when he doesn’t get his way. He learned that from my parents’ dog, Tally.
We look forward to 2 1/2, when he’ll most likely return to being human.
