You know your mom’s an English teacher when…
I overheard Caleb talking to Phillip this afternoon about some things that Mom does because she’s an English teacher:
1. She corrects your spelling in all of your journal entries, essays, and creative stories.
2. She corrects your grammar when you’re trying to tell her something important.
3. She makes you turn off the t.v. while you’re reading.
Okay, so maybe I’m too nitpicky about the spelling and the grammar, but the reading habits are paying off.
We signed up for new library cards on Monday afternoon, and each child checked out two books. We headed back to the library today because they had already read all of the books and wanted to have more to read over the weekend!
As we were heading to the library, which is in a residential section, Caleb noticed how close some of the houses were to the library. “Oh, Mom!” he gushed. “Wouldn’t it be great to live that close to the library?”
Every nerdy English teacher mom’s dream.
